Champions of Hope is a Southeast Alabama Medical Center Foundation event that seeks to honor breast cancer survivors while highlighting the importance of early breast cancer detection and intervention. Kelli Cundith is the 2009 event chairperson, and as a breast cancer survivor, is a strong advocate of advancing healthcare options in our community. It is her dream and the Foundation's that one day every possible dimension of cancer care will be available in our community.

Proceeds will be used, in part, to help underwrite mammograms for those who are uninsured or under-insured via the Southeast Alabama Regional Health Screening Services van that has the ability to provide this diagnostic test in the more rural communities surrounding Dothan. In addition, proceeds from this event will assist in helping to stage a future regional breast cancer symposium geared at delivering breast cancer education and quality of life improvement options.
